Advertisment?[edit]
It is only a simply stub, not a advertisment at all. These are facts that are known to Hong Kong people. But it does have a potential to expand, however I lack information on it. --Leeyc0 10:36, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
- Not just to Hong Kong people, but to some tourists as what that stub don't mention is, it does has a lot of noteriety especially with the police with selling pirated software. Also it is mentioned at the Lonely Planet HK guide. --Willirennen 12:55, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
- During 1980s and early 1990s, intellectual property of computer software is not yet an issue in Hong Kong, like many other Asian countries. After years the Customs seriously cleaning the arcade, priated software is virtually disappeared in the arcade. Are you sure police force participating in selling pirated software? (Or I misintrepret your sentence?) Can you quote the related text and the years of publication of your tour guide?
- I added some information regarding the history of the bottom floor and its role in software piracy in the past. I left Hong Kong in 1996, so any clarifications or corrections are welcome. EdmundWong 02:31, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
I concur with Leeyc0; not only is this not a single enterprise, but I had heard as long ago as 1994 in e-mail between me in London and a student at CUHK as "the" place to go for computer material (whether that is true or not is another matter, but it was the perception). 77.96.64.84 14:43, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
computer festival[edit]
there is a computer festival lanch every year outside this arcade, selling especially cheap computer related items. Add it?Joetsuihk 09:00, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
So, when is that? "Every year" gives me about a 1/365 chance ... 77.96.64.84 14:40, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
I forgot the name but it's in mid January. I would like to see it mentioned, because it was at least a very interesting sight in 2007. I think you can call it crowded even by Hong Kong standards. I think I can add a picture of the one in 2007.Subc (talk) 16:43, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
