I was wondering who wrote this article and where they got their information. The picture is of Georgina Gordon, The Duchess Of Bedford. She was the second wife of John Russell, The 6th Duke of Bedford. You can find this in the book The Mistress of the Arts. Please contact me at my e-mail lkf1479@bellsouth.net

This image seems to have been wrongly described as Anna Russell, Duchess of Bedford on a number of other internet sites. It has now been corredted here! Giano | talk 17:05, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

I was wondering if you could give the web sites that you wrote about? Other than this book I can not find anything on Georgina Gordon.

The illustration that was (probably incorrectly) used here to picture Anna Russell, Duchess of Bedford is also used to depict her here [1] and the facial features are very similar to this depiction of her here [2] and again here the same image [3] Giano | talk 16:42, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

origin of tea (meal)[edit]

The story about the origin of tea may in fact be an urban legend, as has recently been brought to attention at tea (meal). Although it is not definitive whether this is an urban legend or not, I'm erring on the side of caution and placing a disclaimer on the main page. — Eric Herboso 05:35, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

- Why is there even a long discussion about afternoon tea at all? The information about afternoon tea should be placed in the article on afternoon tea. LeighBCD

The ONLY reason why Anna, Duchess of Bedford is remembered at all, is that she is supposed to have invented afternoon tea.

Darjeeling tea??[edit]

The article states that Anna, Duchess of Bedford drank Darjeeling tea in her legendary pioneering afternoon teas. Darjeeling tea, however, did not become a commercial export until about the time she died. It is much more likely that she drank China tea.
