Welcome! You seem to know your way around quite well already! In any case, of a couple of guidelines. First, it's not necessary to sign articles you create. Just add your signature to things you post on talk pages. Secondly, you don't need to insert a section header at the beginning of the article, but just for the first section (after the introduction). Lastly, the subject of the article is only bolded in the first sentence, where it is identified. I debolded the other references to Edison in the article you just created. See the diff. Let me know if I can be any help to you in your project of creating articles for all these feminist artists. I certainly appreciate your efforts to contribute articles on all these important people. I appreciate the style hints - they'll also make it easier to set them up in the first place. Learning a new markup language is always a pain. I'll have to dig into the history to find out why wiki's isn't html, but it does explain why a friend threw up her hands at the prospect of helping me with this. She'll contribute articles but wants to have nothing to do with getting them up.

I looked at your talk page - I am an avid consumer of Supremes commentary (Slate, legal sites and blogs), so I'll have to check yours out. My article clearly qualifies as "the occasional oddball article."

So when (or how) does the article go up? Do I need to accept your changes before it appears, or is it grinding it's way through database and link integration? --Rfdutcher 04:11, 20 July 2006 (UTC)Reply[reply]

It's up: Laurie Toby Edison. Occasionally the servers are slow to load a new page version, but that usually isn't for more than a couple of seconds. For most articles, the only editorial control is the fact that everyone can edit and there are talk pages for solving disputes. File permission problem with File:WomenEnLarge.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:WomenEnLarge.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included.
