Name of person[edit]
Does this person have first name ? And could some sources be provided to verify his notability ? Travelbird 17:52, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
- According to the Maryland Institute College of Art's website here, his first name is John, so I've added it to the article accordingly per WP:NAMES#Pseudonyms, stage names and common names. JGHowes talk - 02:17, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
Carter Verification[edit]
Carter doesn't have a first name, he only goes by Carter -- the 'anonymous' quality of his name is intentional and relates to his work.
Carter's notability can be verified by contacting his galleries. He's represented by Jack Hanley (a top gallery in California) at http://www.jackhanley.com/ and Hotel Gallery in London at http://www.generalhotel.org/. There are links to these sources in the article. Further information on Carter's professional activities can be found on his atelier's website at http://www.carteroffice.com/firstpage/firstpage.html. This is a comprehensive CV with verifiable links. Hope that helps. --Infoart 17:15, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
re: reverts to this article October 2007[edit]
Please see Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Visual arts/Infoart articles why this article was returned to a stub, and why further edits require sources and cites. LessHeard vanU 13:00, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
Citations[edit]
This article needs some work, but in fairness it has more legitimate citations than it appears to, because they are used as external links instead of references (WSJ piece, MOMA, etc). This needs fixing, if someone else can get to it before I can, much obliged. Jay Dubya (talk) 14:15, 25 March 2014 (UTC)
- This article has a very unclear citation style, still needs more inline citations. Jooojay (talk) 07:26, 3 January 2019 (UTC)

COI[edit]
Many of the edits to this article seem to have possibly been from a connected person or a gallery because of the personal nature (for example, self-hosted, online photos of articles and obscure articles with only a mention). Adding a note here uncase any suspicious edits occur again. Jooojay (talk) 07:28, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
