Names[edit]

I query why, on English wikipedia, the bird names are given in Portuguese and not English?. jimfbleak 06:39, 19 July 2006 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I've rewritten with English names followed by scientific, taken out authors (should be in species' accounts, added status and modernised the very out-dated taxonomy. No doubt there are erors in the text, but I've done my bit! jimfbleak 07:44, 21 July 2006 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Toucans[edit]

@Craigthebirder: An IP editor just changed the heading "Bucconidae - puffbirds" to "Ramphastidae - Toucans". I can tell that the capitalization is wrong, but I can't make sense of the organization. We have genus Ramphastos under two different headings and I suspect more is wrong. Any ideas? SchreiberBike | ⌨  01:39, 25 July 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]

  • @SchreiberBike: Oops. The Bucconidae heading was correct but in some round of updates I dropped in the toucans under it by mistake. I'll fix it tomorrow. Glad for your note - I'd have seen the change when I checked my watchlist just now but might not have actually seen what the problem is. Craigthebirder (talk) 02:08, 25 July 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
