VIP Ecuador, acronym for (Vuelos Internos Privados), was an airline based at Mariscal Sucre International Airport and headquartered in Quito, Ecuador. It operated domestic and regional services. The airline was part of the Synergy Group.
History[edit]
VIP Ecuador was founded in 1997 as a VIP Club, a charter company which renders services only to associated members.
In July 1997, the company started to operate with charter flights, transporting passengers and cargo between regional destinations in Ecuador.[1] The airline was also active in charter traffic, including for the oil industry.
In 2001, VIP Ecuador also operated regional commercial flights. In 2003, it became part of the Synergy Group which owns 100% of its stock.
In 2012, the airline ceased operations, as it merged with AeroGal.
