The Macy's store[edit]

Once Foley's is renamed Macy's in September, will the original Macy's store close or be open? Bucs2004 21:12, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

For the time being both locations will remain open and both will be operating as Macy's stores, but I would not count on that being the case for long. Although the current Macy's outlet is listed for divestiture by Federated no date for closure has been announced. Although I am not sure of the reason for the delay, it is likely that Federated is still negotiating lease termination or sale of the property (whichever the case may be) with Simon Property Group who's best interest is to not have a vacant anchor store.

There are several other stores that are on Federated's list for divestiture which also have closing dates listed as "To be determined." Many stores that were listed as such, including the Macy's in San Antonio and Frisco, TX, were given closure dates once the property was sold back to the owner of the mall, in this case General Growth Properties. I have reordered and tightened the paragraph about the Macy's situation. Hoefully it's more clear.-- Gridlock Joe 11:38, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

Updating[edit]

The page needed a serious update. It was VERY outdated and didn't compare to some of the other upscale shopping mall Wikis.

High end stores section[edit]

The "high end" store directory was removed per WP:NOT. Furthermore, no WP:RS that states that these stores are high end. Postoak (talk) 06:16, 4 October 2009 (UTC)

  • You claimed that Wikipedia is not a directory for Galleria Dallas, Highland Park Village and NorthPark Center. Why are there high-end stores in the "Anchors and Stores" section of Houston Galleria page? You don't seem to know what you're saying. Maybe you need to learn the Wikipedia rules before you start deleting other pages' materials. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.97.144.2 (talk) 19:59, 9 June 2010 (UTC)
It was added by an anonymous editor, like you. One rule for you is WP:AGF. I will remove the extra stores out of the anchors list and integrate them into the article. Postoak (talk) 23:48, 9 June 2010 (UTC)

Uptown Houston location[edit]

A few drive by editors feel that the Galleria is not located in Uptown Houston. Here are a few references (there are literally hundreds) :

  • From the Galleria website "The Galleria is located at the corner of Westheimer Rd and Post Oak Blvd in the heart of Uptown Houston" [1]
  • Uptown Houston website shopping center listing [2]
  • The city of Houston [3] with map [4]
  • Uptown superneighborhood [5]
