What counts for an International Airport?[edit]
The list of destinations from Syracuse Airport on this page is devoid of any international locations. Does anyone know why it is still considered an international airport? Or is that a designation that an airport doesn't have to do anything to keep, once it has been earned? I looked at the page for the IATA, but didn't see anything there that was insightful on the matter. 24.58.37.208 (talk) 02:35, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- I think I read somewhere (can't remember where) that an airport is int'l if it has a Customs office, which KSYR does. Darry2385 (talk) 02:38, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

Cleanup[edit]
I'm going to try to clean up this article as it has a few issues:
- The history section has lots of mentions of minor events in history such as a mayor or senator announcing a campaign to add service or getting one airline to come here.
- The section regarding every large planes or long routes is pretty irrelevant, especially regarding diversions. 747s and the like diverted to SYR all the time when they were popular aircraft. There's also a bunch of sentences about "occasional" swap outs for larger aircraft which is irrelevant and outdated.
- We don't need a detailed history about every concession at the airport, especially pre and post switching a vendor.
- References are messy. In some cases they link to Wikpedia clones of older versions and are thus self-referencing themselves.
- I'll try to find more references in general.
