The "Restaurant district" section should be removed. One of the named establishments is now closed, and while all the remaining are great, it's by no means known as a restaurant district, at least as far as I know, and I've lived in downtown core for over 5 years. I'm sure the family that runs the Arcade restaurant is very nice, but I don't think this fact adheres to a NPOV.

I agree that the part about the Arcade is pretty blatant advertising. I live downtown, the Arcade isn't a huge attraction. A mention would be fine, it is a fairly well known place for locals, but the article currently reads like an advertisment.

"Advertisement" portion was removed. The note on being the oldest family owned restaurant was left in due to the metal plate from the historical building society on the building itself.

Removed "Jillian's is doing fine" because 1. It was pretty blatantly posted by someone who has an interest in Jillian's, and 2. It's closed, so clearly not doing fine. —Preceding unsigned comment added by MikelZ (talkcontribs) 11:44, 1 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Low-importance Tennessee article indeed! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.213.86.45 (talk) 05:09, 18 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

oppose[edit]

  • Downtown is one of the largest neigborhoods in Memphis, with its own subdivisions. As long as the category Memphis_Tennessee_neighborhoods exists, I would suggest that this article be expanded. BobJones 22:12, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • There's a midtown memphis page, Downtown is much larger (population), and has a lot more to talk about.
  • * There's a midtown Memphis?! WTF?! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.213.86.45 (talk) 05:34, 18 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • i oppose, this article needs to be expanded on. important part of memphis, several other cities have articles on their downtowns. Barcode 18:39, 16 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
